Courses

At Stockholm University, coursework (lectures, seminars, projects, etc.) forms a considerable part of the graduate studies. An individual study plan is drawn up together with the supervisor.

There exists a credit point system in Sweden. 1 Swedish point equals 1.5 ECTS (Bologna)points. Information about ECTS can be found here. Graduate students are required to complete 60 Swedish points of coursework if they are at the Astronomy and Physics department and 40 Swedish points at the other institutions. Coursework will concentrate in the first two years of the graduate study. Teaching language will be English. The courses listed to the right are compulsory for astrobiology students.

The courses are also open for students from outside the graduate school in Astrobiology. Some courses might have limited capacity, therefore students from the graduate school will have priority, and others will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. The remainder of the courses required to complete the number of points are chosen together with the supervisor according to the rules for the different departments.
